So, first off, that title is suppose to be a clever combination of furniture and evolution, which failed and became furniture revolution…Wittiness aside, I happened upon Le Lab, a “multidisciplinary designers collective from Eindhoven,  Netherlands”.  They’ve created a series called Origin of Pieces, which is a far better example of wordplay than I can develop.

There is a great artistic sense here, they have functionality as furniture, but then they have this great, weird aesthetic that is in a lot of art that I love. It reminds my of something Bruce Nauman would do if he became an industrial designer. Or stuff that Matthew Barney would make if he didn’t have a massive art-making budget.
