While considering options to make the entertainment console, I thought about a butcher block style top. Then I thought about all of the scrap plywood I have laying around, and kind of put the two together into this idea: a plywood end grain glue-up. Nothing original by any means, but still, something that excited me. I love all the lines of multi-ply, and I always lay all of my scraps on end and press them together and think about how I just want to glue them up.
So, I hit up Google to see what others have done, and how it ends up looking, and just get plain old pumped about doing it. So here we go with Public Research Part Deux! (See Part 1 here!)

I am obviously into the birch ply/walnut mix with a semi-gloss finish…so this pick is expected, I guess!

a) What’s wrong with me and b) Why didn’t I think of this first?

A little bit chunky and old school, but fits the bill
I’m sure there is plenty more out there, and I’m sure I will be posting them when I find them. Hopefully I will have some SketchUp drawings soon!
Cheers,
Shaun
